Good afternoon folks!!!
I have a day off of work (the day job) so that gives me time to sit and enjoy today’s racing, I’m going to concentrate on Lingfield park and possibly post a few selections for Catterick and Leicester depending how things are going.
Hopefully I can help you find some winners!
RAIN WIND AND FIRE (1st)
I’m 50/50 at the minute but will end up backing the fav closer to the off as they both opened up the same price so I’ll go where the money goes here, Ryan Moore has only the one ride today so RAIN WIND AND FIRE could possibly be the one to be on although I still have respect for C.Applebys runner REGARDS has its sure to come on for a debut run. 29 days ago.
plenty to watch as theres unknown qualities in this maiden so I would say keep your stakes reasonable.
RAIN WIND AND FIRE (1st) Ryan weren’t messing a around and got the job done well enough to keep his good record with J.Noseda in tact, (One to follow)
REGARDS.(3rd) possibly given too much to do but finished well enough to warrant following agin next time (One to follow)
MOONFAARID split the pair in 2nd and has run its race, a fair effort but HERCULLIAN PRICE will no doubt come on for a good 4th on debut for O.Stevens, (stick it in your notebook)
SKYWARDS MILES (unplaced)
DESERT MORNING (unplaced)
3 I’m looking at here with John Gosden trained LASHKAAL heading the field in the market the possible one to be on although I like the breeding of the other 2.
SKYWARDS MILES could be the main danger, Kirby takes the ride so another positive
DESERT MORNING is a bigger priced selection to hopefully go well for Simcocks stable, should appreciate the step up in trip.
might be worth a spread bet.
Fav LASHKAAL has at least run a race but was probably disappointing and it was the other John Gosden runner MISS GILER who caught the eye finishing well for 2nd, (one to follow)
SKYLWARDS MILES made a bad start and ran green at the back and never got involved, we’ll no more about that one with more racing.
DESERT MORNING has run a poor race and was also never involved, more than likely needs a few races after that,
ATWIX for Lucy Wadham and Jim Crowley ran out a good winner today and although only just in the end from the running on MISS GILER the filly needs following as that was a solid debut,
SIMPLE VERSE also ran well on 1st start and is (one to note)
BEGGERS LUCK (1st@10/1)
THE HAPPY HAMMER (unplaced)
DIVINE RULE (unplaced)
A HARD LOOKING HANDICAP TO PREDICT,
I have sneaky suspicions for the the runners above but can’t be sure who’s gonna land a blow as they are all capable but some need to improve from their last runs.
My preference would be for BEGGERS LUCK or DIVINE RULE but I’m not getting involved personally.
Maybe I should have got involved now,…haha (I did at the last minute luckily enough)
BEGGERS LUCK gets up under George Baker, not sure what to make of the others just yet but BLACK TRUFFLE ran well for 2nd and HELLBENDER was good enough to fill the places, although BEGGERS LUCK was always holding on, the trio could go well again NTO and the runner up and 3rd could be on their way back to the winners enclosure soon enough but will need to find winnable races I suppose.
ANOTHER TRICKY HANDICAP
I like the above runners for different reasons and all hold strong chances.
ATTAIN upsets my selections here at a whopping 33/1
MATRAASH was a tad disappointing as A.Kirby was caught boxed in at a crucial stage and although finished ok never really looked like picking up, too much too do possibly.
G.BAKER went off the front with UNDERSTORY, he tired up abit towards the line but has run well and could find a race soon, an improved effort from LTO.
ROSENBAUM (unplaced 4th)
HEAVENS ABOVE (unplaced)
nice apprentice handicap to end today’s racing at Lingfield
I like the above selections in that order although once again I’m not strong on many their chances as it’s a wide open race
preference is for ROSENBAUM who’s been gelded and can go well on all weather/handicap debut.
The other Godolphin runner has also been gelded
HEAVENS ABOVE is one I like on breeding and could be one to go well at a bigger price
The winner was TOTAL DOMINATION who stepped up in trip well today and looked to win comfortably enough although there was a hard luck story of the race in my opinion and maybe I’m bias but my selection ROSENBAUM did’nt get the best ride,
in mid division most the way not too far behind the leaders and was cruising along minding his own business when the race was heating up, as they were making a few early moves he’s jockey let a horse take the outside position and left himself with nowhere to go and was bumped when trying to go between horses, anyhow the race was in full flight when he had to get pushed along on the wide outside with plenty of ground to make up, the race was won and he finished his race possibly an unnoticed 4th (hopefully) as I will be on NTO for sure, had more in the locker and was’nt given a hard ride in the end, we ain’t seen the best of this one yet (One to follow)
REWRITTEN looked a bit keen early and was sort of nudged back after going off quickly
with the leaders, let the race slip away but he stayed on for 3rd and should also be followed as he should come on for the run, (big deep chested) (One to follow)
HEAVENS ABOVE (I will have to watch the race back to determine how that run)
Well I hope you enjoyed my fancies and quick outlooks today, I never got around to Catterick and Leicester as I was busy typing, haha
i need to improve my writing speed and ideas a little bit earlier in future.
still, plenty of positives from today, lots of horses to follow.
I’m working on my shortlist/contenders for every race for this years CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL so be sure to lookout for that post!
Have a good evening…
stay tuned folks!
