Good morning/afternoon folks!

Glad to finally post some selections up for the start of a memerable week in the racing calander.

With the famous Ascot racecourse due to showcase some of the finest thoroughbreds the equine world has to offer, I’m goin to dedicate this week to none other than “The Queen”
Who celebrated her 90th birthday this year, It seems only right to add some royal colour to the page with this picture of her majesty and last year’s record equalling jockey Ryan Moore.

Moving on to today’s action and I’ve picked out 4 selections that should give you a good run for your money.

TODAYS SELECTIONS

NAP – MECCAS ANGEL 3:40 ASCOT
Win @Take best price available

image

The rain has come!!
She will get her ground!!
With conditions to suit, and a recent run to blow away the cobwebs, albeit placed 2nd behind the improving Profitable
I think everything looks in order for another big run, the rain will scare plenty away so non runners expected.
Hopefully the real Mecca’s Angel turns up because surely she’s the best horse in the race on her ground…
I’ll be hoping so.

2:30 ASCOT – ERVEDYA
Win @4/1
BELARDO -SAVER/RFC

image

Im chancing this French raider to do exactly that, raid Ascot and take home the money here.
Leading 3yo filly at this trip last year with good turn of foot; made encouraging return.
Belardo is worthy of a big mention and could also win but I think the race could be more or less over by the time of challenging, well I hope so.
I wouldn’t rule out either on this forecast softer ground.
A reverse forecast might be a nice side bet.

4:20 ASCOT – EMOTIONLESS
EW @12/1
THE GURKA – SAVER/ RFC

image

Like trainer Charlie Appleby, I’m not giving up hope on emotionless just yet!
I’m confident we ain’t seen the best of this lightly raced group 2 3yo colt out of Shamardal.
The ground could be key and could be the making of him.
I would say; THE GURKA is kind of fancied to go well too so EW would be best at 12/1 in a fascinating contest.
A SAVER on The Gurka could prove wise if market is solid.

5:00 ASCOT – SILVER CONCORDE
Antepost@7/1 generally 6/1

image

The Irish trained horses tend to go well in this type staying event, hench the reason I fancy the in form Dermot Weld runner Silver Concorde, 3/5 on the flat
And 5/10 if you include NHF races.
Everything points to a decent run but while there’s a couple Mullins runners and a Gosden inmate in the field you can’t go too mad.
Bet cautious but it definitely looks to hold a strong chance.

SMALL FUN BETS
CAPABLE OF HITTING THE FRAME

EW Double
Pearl Secret @12/1
Misty Trader @6/1

0.50p Trixie
Pearl Secret/ Emotionless/Misty Trader

LONG SHOT EW Double
Gokan @50/1
Arod @25/1

Good luck with any advice taken.

I fancy SILVER CONCORDE to go well here and possibly reverse form with No Heretic

Lto SILVER CONCORDE was draw on the outside of No Heretic meaning he had to do the following

In stall 5 this time with No Heretic in 8, there’s a better chance of holding a more favovored position, possibly, it’s a long way to the post but theres madness in the method.
Plenty with chances so small bets or EW advised.

There’s not much in it but D Weld has a strong record here so I’m hopeful of a big run.

Silver Concorde is
5 from 10 on the flat or in NHF races

Good luck

Good evening/morning/afternoon folks!

As this is the most eagerly awaited meeting since it finished last year, I have drafted in help from the likes of Fred Pace (A Cheltenham lover who boasts plenty of winners over the years)
And Wayne (A horse racing newcomer who has had plenty of winners on the AW this year, he is now trying to change codes and pick us some lively EW contenders)

Selections also from myself, Scott (Writer/Editor and horse racing fanatic who always endulges deep into the breedings and backgrounds of the thoroughbred world)

13:30 Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+, Class 1, 2m 87y
@SH0tties It’s hard to get away from Min  in the opener with better ground expected to bring out more improvment. I’m gonna play the fun card here aswell and pick One of the skelton pair, North Hill Harvey or Mr Mijogi, the former is a course winner who ain’t done much wrong and the latter is very well put together and either could go well at massive prices, Altior could pose as the main threat although Im gonna stick with my 1st choice
@1982_wayne… Bellshill
Fred Pace …. Min
Frank Brook Min
14:10 Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase (Novices’ Grade 1) (5yo+, Class 1, 1m 7f 199y

Douvan shouldn’t really be getting beat at those odds, might get a challenge from somewhere but I struggle to see where
@1982_wayne Douvan
Fred Pace Douvan
Frank Brook Douvan
14:50 Ultima Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (5yo+, Class 1, 3m 1f
@SH0tties
Holywell @9/1 is my main selection here for a trainer who knows how to win this race having won it 3 times in recent years, A course and distance winner who was 4th in the gold cup last year and, who won this race the year before, still has age on side and can hopefully get in the winners enclosure again.
BALLYKAN EW@16/1 (INSTEAD OF CAUSE OF CAUSE WHOS NOT RUNNING)
Morning Assembly is another one who catches the eye at 14/1

THE NEW ONE (My antepost selection@20’s)
MY TENT OR YOURS (My favourite in the line up but carries risks)
ANNIE POWER (My head is telling me to stick with the power)My best bet will probly be a combination forecast

Fred Pace …. Annie Power
Frank Brook Lil Rockafella EW
16:10 OLBG Mares’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (Registered As The David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle) (4yo+, Class 1, 2m 3f 200y
@SH0tties
Vroum Vroum Mag @EVENS is the obvious winner here for me and Polly Peachum @11/2 should be laying down a challenge and at the weights stands a good chance, I expect them 2 to be fighting it out but The Govaness @16/1 was going ok when blundering lto and could improve with Richard Johnson on-board and offers EW Value to make the frame ahead of an out of sorts Bitofapuzzle,
STAT: Mullins has won this race 9 out of the last 10 times
@1982_wayne…. Vroum Vroum Mag
Fred Pace …. Vroum Vroum mag
Frank Brook Polly Peachum
16:50 146th Year Of The National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup (Listed Amateur Riders’ Novices’ Chase) (5yo+, Class 1, 3m 7f 170y
@SH0tties
Noble Endeavor @6/1 can go well for the Elliott team, beaten just a head by Killultagh Vic last year under a penalty, in good order again this time around and @7/1 offers a bit of an EW safety net
Pleasant Company EW @40/1 could go well.
@1982_wayne Southfield Royal
Fred Pace Measureofmydreams EW@10/1
Frank Brook Southfield Royle
17:30 Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase (Listed) (5yo+, Class 1, 2m 4f 78y
@SH0tties
Thomas Brown @16/1 springs out at me, I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet, Harry Fry has a good record so, why not take a little chance, a Cheltenham Winner, who won a nice novices race at Doncaster before unseating rider lto. Capable if in the mood.
